Transfer Disc
The 12” or 15” transfer disc makes it easier to move from one seated position to another, often without assistance. It can be used for transfers between a chair and wheelchair, bed and wheelchair, or wheelchair and toilet. Made with non-slip material on both sides, the disc facilitates body rotation with a minimal amount of physical exertion. The transfer aid assists individuals with impaired mobility from paralysis or limited upper body functions.
If you are unable to use your upper extremities, a helper will still be required but the transfer disc will be a benefit to the caregiver as it reduces back pain. The caregiver should place one foot on the pivot disc to safely monitor and control the transfer.
